Darien's Bicentennial Celebration

The Mather Homestead looks forward to participating in Darien's 200th birthday celebration.

The once in 200 year events will start in town from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.  In town events will include a reenactment of the 1781 Tory raid on the First Congregational Church and demonstrations of colonial period activities (cooking, crafts) at the Museum of Darien.  Activities will be led by the 5th Connecticut Regiment.


Events at the Mather Homestead from 2:30 to 4:30 will include a reenactment of the 1781 raid of the Homestead by British soldiers, a skirmish between Patriots and Loyalists, and a cannon demonstration. Plus food trucks and fun!  

All events are free to the public.
