About the event
The Concepts Art Group's work on display in the Elizabeth W. Chilton Education Center is inspired by the Poetry in the Parks initiative of the National Park Service.The 24th U.S. National Poet Laureate, Ada Limón, selected poems by Mary Oliver, Francisco X. Alarcón, Jean Valentine, Lucille Clifton, June Jordan and Ofelia Zepeda to be installed on picnic tables in seven national parks. As public works of art, the poems to encourage visitors to pay deeper attention to their surroundings. Artists include Donna Collins, Carol Conze, Cate Leach, Pam Lindberg, Karen Neems, Lisa Thorén and Meg Tweedy.
