Celebrating our Past

We celebrate our storied and unique history ... a home enjoyed by seven generations of Mathers, raided by Tories during the Revolutionary War, and later owned by Stephen Tyng Mather, the first Director of the National Park Service.

Enriching our Present

We enrich our community by "Bringing History to Life" for all ages through lectures, tours, book clubs, reenactments, family fun events, field trips, workshops, and more!

Securing our Future

We are securing the future of this remarkable historic landmark. As responsible stewards of the Homestead, we have embarked upon a restoration and master planning project which will preserve and enhance the house and property for generations to come.

  • Continual research of artifacts in our collection to develop new exhibitions and programs.
