Spies on the Devil's Belt, by Betsy Haynes

Kids! Join us for a discussion of Betsy Haynes' 1974 book set during the Revolutionary War. Fourteen-year-old Jonathan wants to be a soldier fighting for the American Revolution. After his father's death he signs up, but is made into an errand boy. That is when he decides to form a spy network of his own. Recommended for ages 9 to 12.  Great pre-read before 5th grade Revolutionary War curriculum!
We have copies available to borrow!  Let us know if you'd like one.

This discussion will be led by our in-house literary guru Samantha Gault!

Night at the Museum!

Friday, October 21, 6 pm

Recommended ages 8 to 12, limited to 12 participants.

The night begins with pizza in the barn ... and then things get spooky.  After a tour of the Homestead by candlelight, including the attic and basement, kids will test their knowledge as they attempt to "Escape the Tories," using clues to solve puzzles. IF they escape .... s'mores to follow!
